“He continued to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding through the vision of God; and as long as he sought the LORD, God prospered him.” (26:5)
“But when he became strong, his heart was so proud that he acted corruptly, and he was unfaithful to the LORD his God, for he entered the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.” (26:16)
Sometimes when we’ve experienced blessing from the LORD over an extended period of time, we are tempted to either let it go to our heads, or go rogue; assuming His blessing will follow us unconditionally.
We must always walk in humility and check ourselves for this kind of thinking. We are not entitled to His blessing and power. He graciously bestows it on us as our hearts are postured toward Him.
Uzziah was, at one time, seeking the LORD, and this was His time of favor. When we are looking to Him for wisdom, depending on Him and obeying His commands, we are in a favorable position.
Check your heart today for any areas of entitlement, and seek the LORD for where He desires to lead.
