“They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.” 112:7
When I can claim this, I know I am in a healthy season with the Lord.
When I’m dreading hardship and my prayer life is a long list of things I want God to spare me from, I know I am in an unhealthy season. I desire to be protected from life, instead of just simply desiring God’s presence throughout it.
Take a minute and reflect on the habits of your spiritual life.
When are you more anxious? When are you less fearful?
When do you give generously and freely? When do you hoard and act greedy with your resources?
I love chapter 112 and how it gives us the secret to healthy living within the first sentence:
“Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands.”
Who do you obey?
What do you fear?
(Have I pummeled you with enough questions?)
