“I do not trust in my bow; I do not count on my sword to save me.” 44:6
I love when I remember this truth. That we don’t have to put trust in our devices to save us. We pile up our weapons, figurative or not, and wholly believe they’ll rescue us.
Our vitamins and clean diets will simply only buy us time. Our gated communities, high fences and security systems won’t truly save us. Death and destruction is coming; this world is temporary and it is broken. There is only one thing we can truly count on.
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!” 46:1-2
Where do you put your trust?
Where do you harbor fear?
