Today, I noticed this verse:
“As for me, I will certainly not sin against the Lord by ending my prayers for you. And I will continue to teach you what is good and right.” 12:23
Even though Samuel just witnessed God’s people blatantly choosing man over Him, he isn’t given up on them. Because God has not given up on them.
Is there someone in your life that keeps making the same bad choices over and over again?
If God has put a calling on your life to love them and serve them through prayer, don’t give up. Continue to minister and teach what is good and right.
Or maybe you’re the someone who keeps repeating the same sin pattern. God hasn’t given up on you, either. He’s willing to give us over to our own desires, our own flawed ‘kings’ that we beg him for, but when you are a child of God, you are not separated from his love.
Stop and pray for someone you are tempted to give up on, even if it’s yourself.
“But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you.” 12:24
