Here’s the second part the the Bible Project overview as a refresher. This means–hooray!–we’re in the HOPE chapters!
“For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out.” (34:11)
I love it when He takes matters into His own hands. It’s beautiful how He invites us to be a part of things, but without His power, we’re as helpful as a toddler with a playskool hammer.
He, Himself, becomes the shepherd. He transplants hearts of stone for hearts of flesh. He is the creator who breathed life into dust to form us. He, who begins good works, is faithful to complete them.
“And I will set up over them one shepherd, My servant David, and He shall feed them: He shall feed them and be their shepherd.” (34:23)
Jesus is the embodiment of God with us. The Creator among creation. He is also the embodiment of mankind walking in their full potential. He showed us how to live, how to care for people, how to submit to the will of God.
Let’s look to Him, today, for the power to love and serve those in our sphere of influence. Let’s observe His example; humbling ourselves to be like Him.
“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” (Philippians 2:5-7)
