“How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart.” (119:2)
Ahhhhh the refreshment of God’s good and glorious words. After the dire muck of sinfulness in Judges, I’m pleased to meditate with the psalmist on the goodness of God. This glorious contrast.
His Law is good and beautiful. I would challenge us not to default to “oh, but Christ fulfilled the Law, we don’t need it anymore.” It is still good, just, wise. The directions of the creator could read like a beauty product package: for best results…..
The Law referenced here is largely referring to chunks of Exodus and Deuteronomy (which we’ve covered). But remember how Jesus summarized the Law and the Prophets (Genesis-Malachi)?
“And He said to him, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40)
Let the goodness of His designs wash over you today.
