“Who can be compared with the Lord our God, who is enthroned on high? He stoops to look down on heaven and on earth. He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, even the princes of his own people! He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother. Praise the Lord!” 113:5-9
I love these beautiful qualities about God! But let’s not forget, we are called to make these qualities about ourselves too. We are invited into the kingdom-shaping work that God is doing.
What does that look like for you? How can you be reaching the poor and needy?
A childless woman in this context would be completely rejected from society, seemingly worthless. How can we come alongside those society rejects? Who are those people?
If you have been reading along with us the entire book of Psalms, GOOD. WORK. We are going to take a break after Psalm 118 and come back to the rest of the book later. Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible with great content and we want to give it the attention it deserves.
So, on Friday morning, we will starting the book of 1 Corinthians. Can’t wait!
