Psalms 65-67

“Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him.” 66:5-6

Yesterday a friend texted me exciting news that a prayer had been answered. And not just “oh things kinda worked out”. It was a very deliberate answer of prayer for a circumstance with an unlikely outcome, that we prayed for anyway. The kind of story you maybe read about and think “that’s cute and swell, but uncommon”. These are the stories I cling to. The modern day miracles.

A couple weeks ago, I heard from a friend that I lost contact with years ago. The broken, hurting person I remember is now healed and joyful. “What awesome miracles he performs for people!”

These moments prompt me to be more transparent with people. To share my struggles, that they might become answered prayers. To be honest with my weaknesses, so God will be  glorified because he is strong. It’s tempting to hide our failures, debt, relationships, struggles, etc, but we are missing an opportunity. We lose out on the power of being prayed for, on the beautiful process of letting others into our mess and on God performing miracles.

Who are your safe people? Let them in on something you need prayer for. “Safe” for me means I feel known, they are trustworthy and not afraid to tell me when I’m wrong.

What people consider you safe? Check in with them! Maybe they need you to shine some light into their darkness.

What miracles have you seen God perform in your life? Be quick to share them. It’s so glorifying to God and so encouraging.
