Isaiah 17-18

Israel was hoping Damascus would save them from the Assyrian threat, but instead, it just gets brought down with Israel. Their power fades. Their people scatter. They cannot save themselves from God’s judgment.

“Then at last the people will look to their Creator and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel. They will no longer look to their idols for help or worship what their own hands have made.”

Running from God’s judgement and avoiding repentance only buys you time.

Do you find yourself turning to God only after everything else comes up empty?
