When we first started reading together a few years ago, this is the book we started with. It’s Bethany’s favorite. Probably because her dad read it to her as a kid, but also because it is full of complex characters who are super relatable and easy to root for. That being said, as you read, take special note on each character. How are they different? What do they have in common? What is their motivation? How does God respond to them?

We want to incorporate these super helpful and informative theme videos from The Bible Project. These guys are WAY closer to being experts than us. As luck would have it, they recently made an overview video for 1 Samuel. Enjoy.
